Construction Architect/Drafter

Position Overview: The Construction Architect/Drafter at Knutson Custom Construction (KCC) plays an essential role in the success of our projects. As an Architect/Draftsman, you will be responsible for creating detailed architectural drawings and plans for buildings and structures according to client specifications and guidance from the KCC sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect/Draftsman Role:

  • Prepare detailed architectural drawings and plans for buildings and structures based on client specifications and direction from the KCC sales team.
  • Collaborate with the KCC sales team or design team, depending on project scope, to develop precise and accurate construction drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines.

Project Management:

  • Maintain ongoing communication with field personnel, sales agents, office staff, and the design team to ensure project plans are up to date with happenings on the job.
  • Adjust plans as necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the KCC sales team, who will be your primary point of contact for all client interactions and project initiation.
  • Engage with the design team on custom design builds, ensuring that client-specific requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure that all aspects of the project are aligned and running smoothly.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in an architectural drafting software
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, quality and timeliness
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and make decisions quickly to maintain project momentum and quality.

Work Environment:

  • This position requires local office base setting with occasional visits to project sites as needed.
  • You will work in close coordination with the KCC sales team, design team, and field personnel to ensure the successful completion of each project.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports directly to the KCC sales agent/team, with close collaboration with the design team when required.

Knutson Custom Construction, LLC is seeking individuals to fill a full time General Carpenter position. Knutson Custom Construction is a family- owned general contractor with an excellent reputation for design-build, new home construction and remodeling.

We are looking for carpenters who:

  • Are independent workers but also work as a team player to accomplish various tasks
  • Are reliable/dependable/hardworking
  • Have the ability to read and comprehend blueprints as well as knowledge of carpentry math
  • Are able to run a jobsite with minimal supervision
  • Are willing to think outside the box
  • Have the ability to problem solve job site issues and come up with creative solutions
  • Have the ability to learn from and to teach teammates when necessary
  • Can supervise and train teammates and give feedback if needed
  • Are able to communicate and work with sub-contractors
  • have experience with hand tools and power tools
  • Are able to stay on task and be mindful of the job schedule and think ahead to keep jobs moving forward
