It is so frustrating as a home owner to have your perfect house, but your kitchen/dining area just don’t work with your life style.  A lovely couple living in the Congdon neighborhood had just this issue, they love to cook and entire and have a growing family. Their kitchen area just didn’t work for their lifestyle. They wanted to have a more open concept where they could have guests over and hang out with them while they were cooking a meal. They wanted to have their kids playing and be able to see them while they were cooking. Knutson was able to work with them and take their ideas and create them a new space that allows them to do all these things. We were able to take their old space, rework it and add on to it to give them the open concept living they were looking for. What went from a small closed off kitchen and dining room is now an open concept dining/kitchen/family room (inside and out on the deck). The use of the materials, colors and light all work together to give this area the open and airy feel the home owner was looking for, but also warmth and coziness one wants in their home as well.
