A “Whoever’s Home” Kitchen

A family with college kids who are coming and going and sometimes staying needed a two station kitchen for parents who love to cook delicious and healthy meals nightly.  Their home is perfectly located on a quiet dead end road in the heart of the historical Congdon neighborhood in Duluth.  They had previously lived through a kitchen renovation so they were prepared for the disruption construction creates in one’s daily life rather than sell and look for a different home.

We respected the traditional layout of their home and kept the kitchen in its original spot but opened up a wall to the dining room for more light and seating.  We added a window to their backyard and created better flow to their four season porch which is where dinner is usually enjoyed.  We also gave them great storage for healthy ingredients and space for two cooks to get creative.  The peninsula gives the kids a spot to sit and catch up with their parents.

Our clients come back to us again and again.  This couple has trusted us to renovate their front entry, kitchen, four season porch, master bedroom, master bathroom and build them a one of a kind sauna.  We’ll be ready for them when they call us again!
